How the Diet Works

The body cultivates energy from three resources: glycogen (carbohydrate), protein, and fats.  As a core principal to Ideal Protein, the body will use up the simple and complex carbohydrates first and then simultaneously, turn to the protein and fat reserves for energy. Once the body is burning fat for energy, it is in a ketogenic state. The ketosis turns fat reserves into energy and the body’s metabolism will convert the fat to fuel, therefore, giving the body the energy and means to burn calories. During the ketosis process, the pancreas is ‘corrected’ to function properly and cravings for sweets will literally disappear.

Ideal Protein Program

The 4 Phases

As many diets illustrate, anyone can lose weight, but learning how to keep it off is the key! With the Ideal Protein Program, there are four phases to empower success. During all four phases, you’ll come to the clinic for weekly PRIVATE coaching appointments, so you’re never doing this alone!

With the assistance of a coach, Phase 1 is strictly followed until 100% of the weight loss goal is achieved. During this phase, dieters eat 3 Ideal Protein meal replacements per day, 6-8 ounces of lean protein, and 4 cups of green veggies.

Phase 2, is a transitional phase that lasts about two weeks. Here, we reduce Ideal Protein foods to two packets per day and we add two meals of 6-8 ounces of lean protein and 4 cups of veggies.

Next, Phase 3 focuses on weight loss stabilization. Over the course of 14 days, a moderate re-introduction of healthy fats and carbohydrates takes place.

Lastly, Phase 4 is the “final act” or often referred to as the maintenance stage. This phase encourages participants to use the education and knowledge gained through the experience to lead a healthier, happier life. You’ll return to a normal, balanced diet and be able to make healthier lifestyle choices. No Ideal Protein foods are required to maintain your weight loss success. And don’t worry, you won’t be on your own after that – we offer a 12 month Ideal Lifestyle program with continued private coaching sessions specifically tailored to your needs.

Length of the Program

The experience is different for everyone. For this reason, our coaches and dieters work together to create a timeline that sets realistic, attainable weight loss goals. Typically, following Phase 1, without interruption, one can expect to lose between 2-5 pounds of fat per week. Dieters remain in the first phase until 100% of the weight loss goal is achieved. If the protocol is not followed 100%, the results will be little or nonexistent. As clients move into Phases 2-4, the timeline shortens as they apply what they’ve learned to achieve success even beyond the final phase.
